Empowering women in the early stages of GenAI adoption is essential for fostering inclusive growth and closing the gender gap in the tech industry.Women in senior technical roles are 14 percentage points more likely to adopt #GenAI than their male counterparts, providing a significant opportunity to further gender equality in the tech industry. Though progress is evident in senior technical roles, there are persistent disparities among women in non-tech and junior positions. How can we illuminate a path to close the gender gap through GenAI adoption? Stay tuned for our upcoming report.

Recognizing Women's History Month with #GETIntersectionality! #GETIntersectionality recognizes that many people experience multiple, overlapping sources of oppression (especially within the workforce). The struggle for womenโs rights is deeply connected to the struggles of Black, Latino/a, Indigenous and other people of color and those within the LGBTQIA+ community. And many within our #GETCommunity hold multiple of those identities themselves. Our team is honoring #WomensHistoryMonth by embracing intersectionality and advocating for gender justice for all. Together, let's create a tech space where everyone can thrive, regardless of their background or identity!#genderequalityintech #techleaders #womenintechnology #genderequality #inclusivetech #inclusivity #computerscience #womeninstem #equityintech #entrepreneurship #womenintech #genderequity #GETcommunity #innovation #technology #leadership #investment #startups #community #accelerator #blackintech #racialequity #womenintech #indigenoustech

๐ฃ Are you interested in advancing research-based entrepreneurship and promoting gender equality in university environments? While the number of science-based spin-offs has seen growth in recent years, a concerning trend persistsโwomen remain underrepresented in the world of spin-off ventures.Furthermore, there's a notable gap in understanding how university environments can better support entrepreneurship from a gender perspective. Is there a difference in how social support is perceived by male and female academics in the process of spin-off creation? And are specific offers for spin-off projects at universities, such as the promotion of team building or finding investors, less familiar to female researchers? For valuable answers and furtherinsights, delve deeper into the research conducted by Noemi Schneider, Richard Blaese, PhD, and Brigitte Liebig:https://lnkd.in/ez-FAS-m#IJGE #entrepreneurship #journal #research #entrepreneurs #gender

As we celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11th, I'm reminded of the incredible impact women have made in science and technology. It's a day close to my heart, where we celebrate their remarkable achievements and advocate for greater gender equality within STEM fields.Despite the progress made, I know first-hand the challenges women still face in the world of science. Achieving true equality isn't just a checkboxโit's about creating a world where everyone, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.Studies consistently show that empowering women in science isn't just the right thing to doโit's essential for driving innovation, economic growth, and societal progress. Through Clueo Clinical, Iโm committed to breaking down barriers and creating pathways for women and marginalised groups to succeed in STEM fields in particular the clinical trial industry by bridging the knowledge, skills, and opportunity gaps, and championing the next generation of female scientists, innovators, and leaders.โ ๏ธ Did you know?๐ก Until the 1990's, women have been excluded from clinical trials. This gender disparity partly stemmed from the initial misconception that men and women are "made" the same. We know now that men and women are biologically different, and they respond differently to medical treatments.๐ก 8 out of 10 drugs removed between 1997 and 2000 from the US market by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) were due to adverse effects primarily or exclusively experienced by women.๐ก โYentl syndromeโ is a term used to describe a situation where women are misdiagnosed or receive inadequate treatment because their symptoms or conditions do not match the typical patterns observed in men.Together, let's continue to push boundaries, challenge stereotypes, and create a more inclusive future for all. ๐ช๐ฌ #WomenInScience #GenderEquality #STEM

Ladies- we have to talk. One of our TOP core values at Sting is to ensure there is a balance of gender equality when we are going through applications of startups looking to join the Sting programs.Throughout the years, we have kept track of the numbers to ensure we are hitting the marks and improving each year. The benchmark is set at 50% female and 50% male founders, but sadly, we have seen a downward trend in finding that balance. So, to ensure we get back on track, we will launch Female Fridays! We want to test this initiative here at Sting, where we will be offering breakfast events, webinars, and networking opportunities to support, talk about growth journeys, and give tips and tricks on ensuring equal opportunities. More information to come, but we want to take the opportunity to put this on your radar so that when we are looking for you to join, you know what we are talking about!Excited to have you onboard. In the meantime, please let us know in the comments if there are any specific topics you look forward to discussing.Secret woman handshake until next time,The Sting team!#internationalwomensday #femalefriday #femtech

As has become my tradition, I am honoring Intersectional Women's Day today.Cissexism, misogyny, and hetero-patriarchy are systems of oppression that affect far more humans than those historically seen and celebrated on this day. And let us not forget that, historically, today is a day of riot. Of strike. Of showing up in coalitions across the fault lines of marginalization and standing together in solidarity, fighting for the right to live lives of dignity and prosperity. These rights (as much as they have been afforded) were hard won - and recent years have seen an increasing roll-back, with anti-feminist legislature being passed across the globe. Now is not the time to be complacent and give each other roses. Now is the time for us to support each other and re-imagine a society that is built on empathy, care and the principles of belonging#IWD2024 #RadicallyHuman #CoCreatingBelonging #DefendingDemocracy

As an audience and panelist at the #indiatoday women summit awards I was asked the one question that has become quite a staple. And as always I was extremely happy to answer it, the more varied the audience the wider the circle the more it needs to flow. There is #no #gender prefix to #struggle | #challenge | #bias | #sexism | #roles | #seats | #personalities | and most important of all #possibilities and #opportunities in your #life and #career. To sum it up #Introspect #observe #learn #develop and #grow, and leave the gender out the door!https://lnkd.in/dS7bJudt

At DMC, March 8th is #Intersectional Women's Day! This re-naming is intended to highlight how the systems of oppression that gave rise to the historical marker we call #iwd differentially affect those who are not white, affluent, able-bodied, heterosexual, cis-gender women.First and foremost, let's be unequivocal in this simple truth: Trans women are women. Period. Therefore every transwoman is worthy of being celebrated today - and any day of the year - right alongside cisgender women! Yet trans women have historically been missing from consideration or celebration on International Women's Day.Continuing from this, the intersection of gender identity, gender expression, and #sex assigned at birth exposes those folx to experiences of discrimination who are (mis!) labeled as women who do not identify as women. They experience the same types of #discriminations, based on the mentioned intersection. This includes (but is not limited to): nonbinary, gender-nonconforming, genderqueer, genderfluid, and agender individuals who were assigned female at birth (afab). One of the greatest lessons the pandemic has taught us is a lesson on our inter-connectedness: When you thrive, I thrive. We all thrive. "No one is free until everyone is free." This Intersectional Women's Day, let's remember and celebrate that - and each other.#RadicallyHuman #IWD2024

As we approach international menโs which is celebrated on November 19th each year, which is a day dedicated to promoting positive male role models, raising awareness about men's mental health, highlighting gender equality issues, and celebrating the contributions of men to society. What we need to talk about is positive male role modelling. Who are young men Influenced by? What is that influence?Often social media algorithms reward and promote divisive and controversial opinions that are designed to engage. Also, when you look at high office and politics and the fact that men like Donald Trump, Boris Johnson, Jacob Rees Mogg etcโฆget rewarded for abysmal behaviour, you start to see that the messaging the social media algorithms feed young men is compounded and reinforced. That the best way to the top is to act in these ways.We need to change this. We need to actively promote and seek out positive male role modelling. I am privileged to know many incredible men with hearts and souls that could lift a community. The reality is you wonโt hear about them though. The platforms on which young people engage and communicate have no interest in highlighting their work as it promotes collectivism not division. And the currency of social media is division. That is why community based projects have never been more important. That is where they can learn. #internationalmensday #masculinity
