Microblading can be removed using either laser or saline method which is a non laser treatment.

Depending on how saturated the brows are I will advise the best course of action. I generally like to always start removal with saline as it helps with scar tissue, I find scaring is generally present after microblading.

If the brows are very blue and we go straight in with laser we can be left with red/salmon ink in the skin. But if we start with saline first this pulls the blue and red at the same time, so on your first session I may suggest we do a laser test patch to see what colours in the ink and then decide a removal plan from there.

This is all discussed on your first removal session so rest assured you’re in the best hands as I have all the removal methods to give you the best results.

scarring from microblading

Microblading itself if not done correctly can cause scaring within the brows, in particular the tails tend to scar more easily as this part of the brow has the thinnest skin so if pressure is not corrected whilst microblading then the incision will be too deep leaving the client with scaring. Some noticeable and some not so noticeable,

The great thing about Botched Ink I’m experiencing is the solution actually helps break down that scaring which will then help lift unwanted pigment but also help hair regrowth as many also experience loss of hair after microblading. The old type of tattoo brows too can cause deeper scaring so again removal would be necessary to start healing those scars before we could then put new pigment in.

If the skin has scaring it will not hold new pigment.

Laser Brow Removal

The latest technology on permanent makeup removal is a Q-switched Nd: YAG Face and body laser machine, which targets tattoo ink pigment. This method of laser treatment can treat several skin issues. It’s mainly employed to remove tattoos but is now commonly used to remove unwanted permanent makeup.

Also, the older style brows were mostly done with tattoo ink, but in the last five years, inorganic and organic pigments have been introduced. We can laser microblading, powder brows, permanent eyeliner, & scalp micro pigmentation.

I recommend clients commit to a minimum of 2-3 sessions. Depending on the age of the pigment and the number of times they have been worked on will all determine how much work is needed. 8 weeks of healing is needed between each removal session, and 12 weeks of healing is needed before we can start your new brows. It can not be rushed, and the skin must completely heal before we start further work. This is not a quick turn around you must be committed to your appointments to see the best results.

  • Treat the area gently, no exfoliating or excessive sun exposure.
  • The second treatment can be carried out after 8 weeks.
  • Treatment cycle is 8 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks and repeated as required.
  • We leave a longer time if the skin has not returned to a normal colour.
The Removal Process

Removing, improving or lightening pigment is a process which may take several sessions Mature or saturated tattoos may initially respond slowly
After 3 treatments we’ll have a better idea how easily the pigment is removing
Pigment may look darker before it gets lighter, especially if was implanted deeply Pigment that’s closer to the surface removes easier
Brown pigment is made up of black, white, yellow, red and green Black pigment usually removes first, making other colours more visible Grey brows may look browner, or warmer colours may begin to show
Tattoo removal is a process with many variables, therefore how much pigment is removed during each visit, or how many visits are needed, cannot be known or guaranteed
Failure to follow these aftercare instructions may reduce the effect of the treatment and may result in undesired problems such as hyperpigmentation, scarring or infection. In the unlikely event of an infection, your technician cannot give medical advice, so immediately seek attention from a GP

Microblading Removal FAQ’s

Can you get rid of microblading if you don’t like it?

Yes, you can. You have two options:

Saline Brow Tattoo Removal in Wolverhampton

Laser removal

Both work well and I generally use both methods for a successful removal. The reason behind this is because microblading pigments generally hold a lot of red ink underneath the blue tones. So once you laser a client can be left with the red from the original brown ink that was put in the skin.

I tend to start the removal journey with saline removal to lift those light red/yellow tones and then finish with laser to target the blue.

If microblading has been done within 48hrs and you decided it was a mistake, you can have a regency removal but you only have a 48hr window before the skin starts to heal and then you would have to wait 10/14 days until healed before then starting the removal journey. If treated within the 48hr window you are more likely to remove a majority of the ink in one session.

Can I peel off my microblading ?

If you are in the healing stage of your microblading then yes by peeling the scabs off this will in turn remove some of the ink but there will also be ink deposited deeper in the skin that will not be removed.

What is the ghosting stage of microblading?

This is the stage where the skin is healing and has a hue to the skin which camouflages the ink so we can not see the true colour until around week 4/6 where the skin becomes more translucent again and we are able to see what ink is actually in the skin. I would not recommend having a top up session any earlier than 6 weeks as the skin is healing and you cannot see the true colour in the skin until that time.

What will ruin Microblading?

Factors that may spoil the healing of your microblading may include;

  • Getting them too wet too soon
  • Sweating as this produces salt which will in turn make the brows scab which will pull out the ink leaving an uneven result.
  • Putting makeup on will cause an infection that again will lead to scabbing and uneven results.
  • Sun exposure will lead to uneven healing and possible infection
